This bridge is one of two ramp bridges east of the I Street Bridge that provides an approach to the I Street Bridge. The bridge ramp that extends directly east of the I Street Bridge is similar to the Jibboom Street Ramp Bridge but is less complex in design. A couple photos of that bridge are in the photo gallery for this bridge. The Jibboom Street Ramp Bridge has a steel stringer design with pin and hanger details. However the most interesting feature is the rigid-frame type steel bents that support the bridge. In particular, some of the steel bents are an extended design that extend the width of the bent so that the supporting legs come to rest at a position out from under the bridge. With only a few of the bents showing this detail, this appears to have originally been to allow a railroad line or other roadway to pass under the bridge, at an angle to the Jibboom Street Ramp Bridge. However no railroad lines pass under the bridge at these points today. The primary fastener type on this bridge is rivets.
