This bridge is one of a group of bridges built ca. 1929 over
Hogan's Creek noted for their extensive ornamentation and all built as part of
the Hogan's Creek Improvement Project. The centerpiece of this group of bridges
is the Main Street
Bridge. Visit that bridge's page for an overview of these bridges, historic
bridge inventory data, and a discussion of their significance.
Of the bridges in this group documented by HistoricBridges.org,
this is the only one that was replaced. Normally a replacement bridge would not
be included on HistoricBridges.org, but it appears the original ornamentation
was reused on the replacement bridge. The ornamentation (which is technically
what this listing is referring to) was built in 1929. The replacement bridge is
a pre-stressed concrete bridge built in 1990.
