This bridge was classified by the Historic Bridge Inventory as eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places as an example of a bridge designed by noted local engineer T. B. Carrick. The unusual railings on this bridge were a favorite of Carrick. Many bridges he designed featured this railing design. The Historic Bridge Inventory notes that due to demolition and alteration this small bridge is an increasingly rare example of these railings.
