This concrete arch bridge was designed by a noteworthy regional engineer, A. W. Grosvenor. Grosvenor was known for using rare Melan type reinforcing in his bridges long after this protoypical reinforcing method had been rendered obsolete by the widespread adoption of traditional reinforcing rods (rebar). It is possible that this bridge has Melan reinforcing, but it is not known for sure.
This bridge has lost its original railings.
