This bridge is mostly a concrete bridge, but its arch ring has a corrugated steel liner which likely helps in bearing the load as well. The bridge is a park bridge which likely is why the bridge has an unusually large amount of architectural detail and ornamentation. The arch spandrel walls have wing details cast into them, and the concrete railings are a unique ornate design with horizontal beams, and vertical posts, as well as decorative circles. 300 feet south of this bridge is an example of why this bridge is noteworthy: an ugly modern pedestrian bridge.
