This bridge was according to the plaque originally built to carry Saw Mill Run Boulevard. Today, it carries a ramp to the Busway, the unusual bus-only road system that provides bus transit service in Pittsburgh. The bridge was built using funds from the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works, so the bridge is noteworthy for association with Depression era relief funds. Additionally, the bridge is noted for its extreme skew. The bridge has large, curved abutments that lead up to the skewed main span that is so heavily skewed that a lot of the floor beams for the plate girder rest on the abutment at one end, rather than the opposing plate girder.
